The Senior Community Center is proud to introduce a new series of adult education classes designed for seniors age 60 and older. “Senior Class” includes sessions designed to enhance lifelong learning and engage seniors in a variety of subjects. Most classes will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday evenings at the Senior Community Center, 1650 W. Second St. However, other classes will be scattered throughout our monthly activities.
Senior Class activities are open to all members of the Senior Community Center. Membership is free to all residents of Owensboro/Daviess County age 60 and older. Those wishing to join are invited to stop by the SCC between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or call 270-687-4640 for more information.

Wayne Hart, EyeWitness news chief meteorologist, will share important information you need to know to stay weather aware. Learn the difference between advisories, watches and warnings, as well as how to respond to each of these scenarios. August 4 @ 4:00 - Learning More About Mortgages
Rhonda Polites, default manager at Bell Bank, will talk about mortgage servicing and options. Learn what to expect if a hardship should occur, including how to work with your mortgage company and outside agencies. Other topics will include an overview of escrow accounts for property taxes and insurance, and what to expect if these are included with the mortgage payment; as well as a general discussion about refinancing and how to add someone to your deed.

Everyone deserves a life with the healthiest brain possible, and we can all take action to protect our brain health. Supporting Brain Health in Our Community shares important information about brain-healthy actions we should all build into our routines to benefit our brains. It’s never too early – or too late – to start prioritizing brain health. This presentation helps everyone understand the science-backed steps we can take to support lifelong brain health.
