Volunteers are the backbone of any non-profit organization, and the Senior Community Center is no exception.

Are you looking for a way to serve or participate in your local community? If so, we have a variety of opportunities for volunteers of all ages.  We try to match volunteers with positions that fit their interest, ability, and availability. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT THE SENIOR CENTER

Delivery Drivers - we're always looking for regular and substitute Meals on Wheels delivery drivers.

Friendly Visitors - interacting with seniors who have requested regular friendly visits to offer comfort or assistance.

WARMM Program - Our WARMM (Weekend Accessible Ready Meals & More) program is operated through volunteers in partnership with Morrisons Food Service, GRADD, Western Kentucky University and Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The meals are prepared here and that portion is listed below under "Meals". We are training volunteers to deliver the meals which reduces food insecurity on the weekends. These volunteers will be trained fully on the use of PHQ forms, data collection, and documentation of visits.

Meals - assist in packaging meals for homebound seniors, Monday through Friday, 8-9 a.m.; serve lunch, Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m.; assist in packaging of frozen meals Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1:30-3 p.m.

Front Desk Greeter - greet seniors and visitors as they enter the Senior Center. Assist with seniors signing in and answer general questions. This is a sitting position.

Pet Meals on Wheels -assist with delivery of pet food and supplies to seniors.

Class Instructors/Teachers - volunteers are the heart of our classes. Whether it be health/exercise, arts, "how to", or a variety of topics, we are always looking for new ideas and volunteers to lead them.
